Thank you. However, after receiving your reply I followed your instructions after deleting the Remover tool manually and also removing the Remover tool's download files from the desktop. I then followed your link and downloaded the tool and tried it again. I had received this message before and chosen the Run Anyway button, but decided to give it another chance. This time the tool ran for a bit over an hour before another message that uninstallation failed and asked for a restart.

After the restart, the tool started running automatically, but eventually popped up the following message from AVGUIX. Click on OK to terminate the program. I clicked on OK and turned off my PC. This morning the AVG Protection file is still there. Do you have further guidance you can offer to remove this file?
